Hi, all! I have managed yet another project this month!! Still not going to question or argue with my brain’s decision to be active this month!

This time I have made a set of Artist Trading Coins for the Lindy’s Gang May 2020 Color Challenge.

Here’s a quick (7 minutes) video of what I did:

For the background I used a circle punch on the paper ribbon and added a stamped image that I embossed with some Lindy’s Gang “Silver Moon Mistletoe” Embossing Powder (Discontinued?). For the stars I mixed a little of the “Plumeria Pink” Flat Magical with some water and brushed it on, and for the wings I mixed the same “Plumeria Pink” Flat Magical with some white gesso to lighten it up. I dyed the cheesecloth with the “Aloha Avocado” Flat Magical powder, and after everything was dry I just started layering, adding some sisal, twine, and “Small Talk” phrases!

Once I figured out where I was going with this project, it went along rather quickly! Sometimes the idea is harder than the execution!

Tres Jolie Kit Club–April Mixed Media Kit–Easter Candlesticks

Hi, all! Welcome back to my blog! For my first project this month for the Tres Jolie Kit Club I have made a set of Easter Candlesticks!

On the candlesticks I sprinkled some of the Magical Shakers, sprayed them with some water, set them upside down, and let the color run how it wanted! I did the same process with the eggs, just not upside down! Check out the video to see all the details.

I added some glitter from this months kit to the bottom of the eggs, set them in some moss, and added some pearls to accent!

The gesso on the candlestick and eggs had some of the texture powder mixed in to give everything a not-quite-smooth surface!

Tres Jolie Kit Club–March Mixed Media Kit-Paddle

Hey, Everyone! Welcome back to my blog!

For my first project this month for the Tres Jolie Kit Club, I am sharing with you what I made using the unfinished paddle from this months kit!

As you can see, I also used the mediums, transparency, butterflies, and one of the frames from the kit to put my board together.

I mixed some of the 13@rts Olive Green paint with the 13@rts Gel Medium, both from the kit, and stenciled the mixture on in a few spots.

The sketched leaves are from the Silhouette store, but you don’t need this specific file to recreate the look! You could hand-draw your own design, use stamps, or fussy cut a nice patterned paper!

I used a thick layer of the Gel Medium on the frame so it would hold the frame and the stems down. For the leaves that didn’t get caught under the frame, I went back and used some Art Glitter Glue to attach them. I also used little dabs of the Gel Medium to hold on the butterflies!

I absolutely love how my paddle came out! And it wasn’t overly complicated! I spent more time waiting for things to dry than I did putting together!

Tres Jolie Kit Club–January Mixed Media Kit-Calla Lily

Hello, All! Welcome back to my blog!

For my third project this month for the Tres Jolie Kit Club, I decided to make a Calla Lily Canvas using the final stencil of the pack that came in this months kit, all three paints, and the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles!

Calla Lily’s are my favorite flower! I just love them, and if the wild pigs hadn’t ate my blubs last fall (2018) I would have had some down by my pond this past spring (2019)! Now I have Calla Lily’s and the pigs can’t get to them!

I used a 7”x14” canvas as my base, painted on a layer of the Prima “Silver Spoon,” then used the “Steampunk Copper” (from the kit!) with the diamond stencil from the Tim Holtz stencil set in this month’s Mixed Media Kit! I used the “Antique Coin” from the Prima three pack to paint the bottom of the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles and set them aside to dry.

I used the new Heartfelt Creations Calla Lily Stamps, Dies, and 3D Shaping mold (from my stash) to create all the flowers and leaves!

Tres Jolie Kit Club-January 2020 Mixed Media – Prima Wooden Trays

Hey, everyone! Welcome back to my Blog!!

My first project for this month for the Tres Jolie Kit Club focuses on using the fabulous Prima Wooden Trays, one of the three stencils, all three paints, and some of the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles found in this months Mixed Media Kit, along with a few items from my stash!

When I first started this project I had a much different idea in mind, but I eventually realized this was going to be so much better as an abstract art project!

You can see stenciling with the paint’s (both from the January 2020 Mixed Media Kit) I turned into texture paste using “Magic Powder” from 13@rts, an item from my stash that came in the June 2018 Tres Jolie Mixed Media Kit.

I love how the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles look like air bubble in the epoxy!

I sprinkled my “Henna” and “Gold Leaf” mica flakes on the bottom, then sprinkled the “Frosted” on top of the epoxy. After that was done I popped the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles in and set the trays on a nice level shelf to cure for 24 hours!

Tres Jolie Kits-December Mixed Media Kit-Canvas

Hey, all! I’m up on the blog today using the December Mixed Media Kit! For this project I used the canvas, mediums, stencil, and drywall tapes from the kit!

I don’t often work with realistic images, but I really do like the print on the Stamperia line! I layered the rice paper over the matching patterned paper, and one eye didn’t quite line up right, but, to me, I think it gives an other-worldly vibe!

Here you can see some of the crazing effect, as well as a closer look at the TCW stencil with the Lindy’s Gang, “Treasure Island Aqua,” Moon Shadow Mist.

I layered the paper and rice paper from my stash with the mediums and drywall tapes from the kit to create a very vintage, very aged effect.

Steampunk Clipboard Calendar-November ReneaBouquets Facebook Swap

This month for the ReneaBouquets Swap over on Facebook we created clipboard calendars for each other. My partner indicated that she liked steampunk, so I decided to make a perpetual calendar in a steampunk style! (Yes, the gears really do turn!)

Process Video:

Using a cut file from the Silhouette Store I printed the numbers on a transparency sheet and fussy cut them down as close to the numbers as I could get for each of the ReneaBouquets gears. The gears were one of my main concerns because I knew they would need some extra support to keep them turning, so I used some E6000 to adhere washers on the top and bottom.

As you can see in the video, it took me a few tries to get everything “just right,” and I have quite a few layers of mediums on the background, but I am happy with how everything turned out! This was my first time attempting to add moving parts to a project, but now that I know [mostly] what to do, I think I’ll be looking for more ways to add moving parts in the future!
