Hey, all! Welcome back to my blog!

Today I’m bringing you the junk journal I created using this month’s Cards, Tags, & More Kit from the Tres Jolie Kit Club. I had such a blast making this journal, and even though I didn’t originally intend to kill the kit, as I kept going it became a personal challenge to see if I could get everything in!

For the video I put the flip-through in at the beginning, then followed it up with the process. I hope you take a peek at it and enjoy it! Below the video I have added a few photos of the finished journal.

Video:

I used the new Tim Holtz color, “Speckled Egg,” throughout the journal. It went beautifully with the Stamperia papers that came in this months kit. For the resin pieces I used some of the “Speckled Egg” oxide and embossing glaze, and some “Gathered Twig” Distress Crayon.

I pieced together the smaller “left-over” pieces to cover the “manila” colored tags that came in the kit and added some string from my stash.

I cut out the ATC sized cards from the paper and attached them to one side of the popcorn bag that came in my kit! (Your bag may be different) I turned the two music prints into envelopes and added them in, and peeking out of this one is a little notebook I made from the largest left-over piece I had and some standard notebook paper.

The final page and inside of the back cover, which contains a flip out.

Tres Jolie Kit Club-June 2020 Mixed Media Kit-“Today”

Hey, all! Welcome back to my blog!

Today for the Tres Jolie Kit Club, I’m bringing you, well, “Today”!! A kind of shabby, kind of rustic memo board I created using items from the kit, items from my stash, and some scrap door casing.

I love how the crackle paint came out on this! I gave me the aged look I was really wanting! Check the video to see how everything went together!

As I mentioned in the video, this project went together rather quickly! I let the flowers air dry so the color could bleed how it wanted, and with the help of my heat gun the mediums were dry in no time!

Here are some close ups of that beautiful cracking:

Aren’t those cracks just amazing? I think it’s some of the best cracking I’ve had. Ever!

I love the bit of sparkle with the Lindy’s Magical Powder, it goes so well with that shine from the Metallic Gilding Polish.

To get that aged look on the frame I layered the crackle paste on top of a coat of the Lindy’s Magical Powder. Because the Lindy’s is water-based it was easily reactivated and absorbed by the paste!

This isn’t in the video, because I thought of it later, but I added a light coating of some Tim Holtz Matte Collage Medium on clothes pin that has the polish. Just enough to add some protection to being touched!

Hi, all! Welcome back to my blog!

Today I’m bringing you a little journal I created using the Simple Stories line that was in this month’s Cards, Tags, & More kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club. As soon as I saw the kit I knew what I wanted to do with those papers, frames, and stickers! I didn’t go in with a plan of action, just a vague goal for the finished product, but I eventually made my way through all my own confusion and got it done!

Those chipboard frames made perfect window pockets! Check out my video to get an idea of what I did! And below the video, you’ll find photos of the pages! I think it is easier to “explain” this project with the video, especially since it is mostly just clueing papers down, but I do give a bit of an overview as I work on the first couple of pages. If you just want to see the end result, I do a final overview around the 37:40 mark.

I used all of that Simple Stories paper pad, as well as all the stickers and frames, putting this together! By the end, I was having to fill in places with parts of the cover, as explained in the video!

Tres Jolie Kit Club–May 2020 Moodboard–Art Journal

Hey, all! Welcome back to my blog! Today I have an Art Journal spread I created based on this month’s mood board challenge for the Tres Jolie Kit Club!

**Note: The photos are pinker than in real life, the video shows the colors much better. What I’ve learned is to be more awake when editing…

I have a little something from every May kit on this 2-page spread! Mediums from the Mixed Media kit, the clock & papers from the Scrapbooking kit, and papers from the Cards, Tags, & More kit!

Here is a close-up of the left page. Some of the papers were torn, some were cut with a circle die, and I fussy cut the phrase!

Here is the right page. The chipboard clock came from the May 2020 Scrapbooking kit and I painted it with the “Caribbean Teal” paint from the May 2020 Mixed Media kit! The gold stenciling is the “Golden Glaze” paint, also from the May 2020 Mixed Media kit, mixed with some 13@rts MAGIC! Powder.

The more teal colored papers came from the scrapbooking kit, while the soft rose-colored papers are from the Cards, Tags, and More kit! (Below are photos of all three kits!)

Tres Jolie Kit Club-January 2020 Mixed Media – Prima Wooden Trays

Hey, everyone! Welcome back to my Blog!!

My first project for this month for the Tres Jolie Kit Club focuses on using the fabulous Prima Wooden Trays, one of the three stencils, all three paints, and some of the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles found in this months Mixed Media Kit, along with a few items from my stash!

When I first started this project I had a much different idea in mind, but I eventually realized this was going to be so much better as an abstract art project!

You can see stenciling with the paint’s (both from the January 2020 Mixed Media Kit) I turned into texture paste using “Magic Powder” from 13@rts, an item from my stash that came in the June 2018 Tres Jolie Mixed Media Kit.

I love how the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles look like air bubble in the epoxy!

I sprinkled my “Henna” and “Gold Leaf” mica flakes on the bottom, then sprinkled the “Frosted” on top of the epoxy. After that was done I popped the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles in and set the trays on a nice level shelf to cure for 24 hours!

Tres Jolie Kits-December Mixed Media Kit-Canvas

Hey, all! I’m up on the blog today using the December Mixed Media Kit! For this project I used the canvas, mediums, stencil, and drywall tapes from the kit!

I don’t often work with realistic images, but I really do like the print on the Stamperia line! I layered the rice paper over the matching patterned paper, and one eye didn’t quite line up right, but, to me, I think it gives an other-worldly vibe!

Here you can see some of the crazing effect, as well as a closer look at the TCW stencil with the Lindy’s Gang, “Treasure Island Aqua,” Moon Shadow Mist.

I layered the paper and rice paper from my stash with the mediums and drywall tapes from the kit to create a very vintage, very aged effect.
