In the above photos you can see where I added the “Daffodil” Shimmerz Creameez & “Milled Lavender” Distress Oxide Spray!

DSC_0017_FRAMED

For the lattice behind the shutters I added some “Buttercup” Embossing Powder from my stash to one of the Creative Embellishment pieces found in this months kit! And the bird? One I had left from the December 2019 Scrapbooking Kit!

It doesn’t happen all the time, but sometimes I feel the need to add tons of flowers! Fortunately Kim makes sure there are flowers to spare in her kits, because two of the three additional flower packages I had saved from previous months! (In total I have five flower packs on here, two from this months kit, two from previous months, and one I actually bought myself!)

Tres Jolie Kit Club–January Mixed Media Kit-Bees

Hey, everyone! Welcome back to my Blog!!

My second project for this month for the Tres Jolie Kit Club focuses on up-cycling a wooden box, using one of the three stencils, two of the paints, the 49 & Market Vine, and some of the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles found in this months Mixed Media Kit!

DSC_0037-FRAMED

Even though in the beginning I wasn’t completely sure if I’d use the ReneaBouquet Bees from my stash, they were the inspiration for the colors! I really just wanted everything but the flowers to have neutral coloring, so I used the “Ancient Coin” and “Steampunk Copper” Prima Paints from the kit on the box and rice paper (also from my stash) with the stencil.

I painted the top “rim” of the box with the “Ancient Coin” and used the “Steampunk Copper” on the outside and inside edges, as well as creating a texture paste of the paints for the stenciling!

Video:

DSC_0003-FRAMED

I added some of the texture paste stenciling to the outside of the box for texture then painted it with the “Steampunk Copper.”

Here are some close-ups of each of the four compartments so can get a good look at the details!

This little box went together quickly, and I was able to put it all together in a single day! Because Prima paints dry so quickly I was able to time their dry time when I went and had some lunch, and the texture paste I just had to wait for it to be “dry enough.”

Tres Jolie Kit Club-January 2020 Mixed Media – Prima Wooden Trays

Hey, everyone! Welcome back to my Blog!!

My first project for this month for the Tres Jolie Kit Club focuses on using the fabulous Prima Wooden Trays, one of the three stencils, all three paints, and some of the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles found in this months Mixed Media Kit, along with a few items from my stash!

DSC_0002-FRAMED

When I first started this project I had a much different idea in mind, but I eventually realized this was going to be so much better as an abstract art project!

Video:

DSC_0008-FRAMED

You can see stenciling with the paint’s (both from the January 2020 Mixed Media Kit) I turned into texture paste using “Magic Powder” from 13@rts, an item from my stash that came in the June 2018 Tres Jolie Mixed Media Kit.

DSC_0005-FRAMED

I love how the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles look like air bubble in the epoxy!

DSC_0011-FRAMED

I sprinkled my “Henna” and “Gold Leaf” mica flakes on the bottom, then sprinkled the “Frosted” on top of the epoxy. After that was done I popped the Prima Mélange Art Pebbles in and set the trays on a nice level shelf to cure for 24 hours!

Tres Jolie Kit Club-December Mixed Media-Dressform

Hey, All! Welcome back to my Blog!

For my third project using the December Mixed Media Kit, I altered used some paper from my stash with the mediums and drywall tapes from the kit to create a décor dressform! (Dressform Cut File from svgcuts.com)

DSC_0003-FRAMED

Can you believe this wasn’t my original plan? I had thought to alter a pencil box to make it look like a treasure chest! Things didn’t go according to plan, and I had to adjust! You can see the transformation in my YouTube video!

Video:

DSC_0004-FRAMED

Even though I hadn’t planned on making flowers, I am in love with all the texture the drywall tapes impart! (All of the glue and gel hadn’t had time to dry fully & become transparent yet when I had to take the photos!)

DSC_0006-SNEAKPEEK-FRAMED

DSC_0013-FRAMED

DSC_0015-FRAMED

My main flower is actually made from the Tim Holtz “Jumbo Tattered Pinecone” Bigz Die and the rest of the flowers came from the Time Holtz “Tattered Florals” Bigz Die.

DSC_0007-FRAMED

In this picture of the back you can really see the beautiful lace I used as, more or less, the bodice of the “dress.” I am so glad I hoarded that lace for so long!

In addition to the December Mixed Media Kit I used (contains Amazon Affiliate links, not associated with Tres Jolie, at no extra cost to you. Thank you for your support!):

*Cameo 3

  • Gold Lace from the July 2018 Tres Jolie Scrapbooking Kit
  • Gold Glitter Foam Balls from Toni

Tres Jolie Kits-December Mixed Media Kit-Canvas

Hey, all! I’m up on the blog today using the December Mixed Media Kit! For this project I used the canvas, mediums, stencil, and drywall tapes from the kit!

DSC_0039-FRAMED

I don’t often work with realistic images, but I really do like the print on the Stamperia line! I layered the rice paper over the matching patterned paper, and one eye didn’t quite line up right, but, to me, I think it gives an other-worldly vibe!

Process Video:

DSC_0047-FRAMED

Here you can see some of the crazing effect, as well as a closer look at the TCW stencil with the Lindy’s Gang, “Treasure Island Aqua,” Moon Shadow Mist.

DSC_0044-FRAMED

I layered the paper and rice paper from my stash with the mediums and drywall tapes from the kit to create a very vintage, very aged effect.

December Mixed Media Kit–Tres Jolie Kit Club-Poinsettia “Vase”

Hey, All! Welcome back to my Blog!

For my first project using the December Mixed Media Kit, I altered an old jelly jar and added some faux floral pieces to create a rustic, winter/holiday décor piece!

DSC_0018-FRAMED

You can’t see it in the photos, but I used the last bit of my drywall tape with the holes from the kit across the top of the jar to help arrange my foliage and poinsettias! And, because the flowers aren’t glued in, I can switch them out if I want!

Video:

DSC_0020-FRAMED

I have so many different textures on my “vase”! I used the crazing medium and the grid drywall tape from the kit, and some crackle paste and glitter from my stash to decorate the jar!

DSC_0025-FRAMED

As you can see, I used the crackle paste with the stencil from this months kit! I love the stencil from this month, it is a “simple” leaf pattern which makes if very versatile!

DSC_0023-FRAMED

The final coat on the piece was to spray it with (and roll it in!) the “Treasure Island Aqua” Moon Shadow Mist by Lindy’s Gang that came in the kit!

YouTube Hop-Get some “Christmas Cheer” with Tres Jolie Kit Club & Blue Fern Studios!

Good morning! I hope y’all are ready for an exciting YouTube Hop where you will be viewing projects created by Design Team Members from Tres Jolie Kit Club and Blue Fern Studios! All of the projects you will be seeing are showcasing the new “Christmas Cheer” line by Blue Fern Studios; the line you can find in the December Scrapbooking Kit by Tres Jolie Kit Club!

**Important** Be sure you give each video a thumbs up, leave a comment, and follow each channel for a chance to win a prize! Thank you!!**

**The Hop will run from December 6, 2019 – December 20, 2019**

To get you started, here is the project I created for the hop!

DSC_0028-FRAMED

Using the “Christmas Cheer” papers, I altered a wooden box and created an accordion fold album to fit inside.

Hop Video:

DSC_0017-FRAMED DSC_0016-FRAMED DSC_0022-FRAMED

After removing the hinges and latch off the box, I used some of my “Christmas Cheer” papers to wrap the box! I then used some “Bronze Age” Prima wax from my stash, added the poinsettia clusters, from Blue Fern Studios, the ornament chipboard from the “Christmas Cheer” line, the charms, and the Prima bird, all found in the Tres Jolie Kit!

The hinges are the original hinges, but I changed the latch to a slightly more ornate on I had in my stash and added some feet, also from my stash, to the box. On the edges I rubbed on a mix of Prima waxes and Nuvo Embellishment Mousse.

DSC_0018-FRAMED DSC_0019-FRAMED DSC_0025-FRAMED

As you can see, I used more of my Prima wax on the chipboard ornaments and on the charms before tucking them into the clusters! I also put a light dusting of the Lindy’s Gang, “Silver Moon Mistletoe,” (from the kit) on the poinsettias!

To “dye” the interior of the box I used my Distress Oxide Spray “Blueprint Sketch” & Distress Spray Stain “Weathered Wood;” which I then followed up with a coat of Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Sealer so the epoxy wouldn’t leech the color out. I sprinkled some Prima mica flakes in the lid and base, poured in my epoxy, then sprinkled some more mica flakes on top. The epoxy takes 24-hours to cure, so I set my pieces on a high, level shelf and left it alone! (Well, I might have dragged something to stand on so I could peek, but I didn’t touch it!)

DSC_0030-FRAMED

DSC_0033-FRAMED

I created my own knobs using a Prima mould, Amazing Cast Resin, and some Chicago screws (post & screw connectors). To give the knobs their color, I stirred in some “Heirloom Gold” Perfect Pearls into the resin before pouring it in to the mould, and after it was set I added some metallique wax.

I used some sari silk to create the tie closure for the album and to tie the tag “bundles” together for each pocket.

DSC_0031-FRAMED

DSC_0032-FRAMED

DSC_0034-FRAMED

The album is now ready to have some memories added! There is ample space for photos and notes, and the box can be used as part of your décor as well as keeping the album protected!

For me a “scrapbooking kit” doesn’t necessarily mean I’m going to be making scrapbook pages! Sometimes I just can’t resist using (almost) everything up in one project, like the junk journal I made for this month mood board!

November Tres Jolie Kits – Mixed Media–Pumpkin Stack

Hello everyone! I’m up on the blog today sharing my pumpkin stack that I created as one of my Guest Design Team projects for Tres Jolie Kits, using the November Mixed Media Kit!

27-Framed

I loved the turquoise, Inka-Gold paint from Viva Décor that came in this months kit! It has a nice, smooth paste-like consistency, that can be put on with your finger or a brush straight from the container! Or, you can do as I did, and add some to a misting bottle with some of the Prima® Silver Mica Powder, also found in the November kit, and make your own shimmer-y, glimmer-y mist! I used my homemade mist on the flowers.

Watch me here:

41-Framed

One of my favorite product types in the mixed media world is any type of “crackle” product, so I was more than happy to see the bottle of DecoArt® Media™ Crackle Paint in the November kit, and I couldn’t help but put a nice thick layer on my pumpkin stack after coating it with some clear gesso.

36-Framed

After my crackle paint dried I added some of the turquoise paint, trying to create an Ombre effect on the pumpkins. I then used a mesh/net bag (that the little pumpkins came in) to wrap the stack, using some jute twine at each layer.

29-Framed

I let my homemade mist soak into my flowers some, then, after they were dry, I used some gel medium to attach them to the pumpkin stack.

30-Framed 31-Framed

28-Framed

For the finishing touches I added some sisel fibers for some added texture, and finished them off by brushing on some Glossy Accents and a sprinkling of the glitter from this months kit!
