Tres Jolie Kit Club–September 2021 Moodboard-Half Circle Journal

Hey, all! Welcome back to my corner!

This week I’m bringing you a half-circle journal I created using items from both the September Mixed Media Kit and Cards, Tags, & More Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club –plus items from my stash. Below you will find some photos, this month’s moodboard, and two videos for this project (Part 1 is preparing and the cover work; Part 2 is assembly and finalizing!)

FRAMED-20210907_112918

I hadn’t originally even thought of doing a journal when I pulled out my circle canvas, but as I sat there staring at the canvas and the new “Circle Swirl” chipboard from Tres Jolie an idea began to take shape! Check out my videos to see how everything came together.

Now for a few close-ups:

FRAMED-20210907_113151

FRAMED-20210907_113207

I used my Tim Holtz Distress Crayons with a Heidi Swapp stencil. Sometimes adding the Crayon first and lifting through the stencil with a baby wipe; sometimes adding the Crayon through the stencil. I was able to layer my Crayon using some Krylon Workable Fixatif in-between.

FRAMED-20210907_113119

FRAMED-20210907_113248

I used the “Burnished Bronze” Nuvo Embellishment Mousse from the September Mixed Media Kit to add some shine to my spine and the “Circle Swirl” Tres Jolie Chipboard.

FRAMED-20210907_113402

I’ve been hoarding this lace for about three years, and I was finally able to bring myself to using it! I grabbed up my Linen Hinging Tape and just added it in a couple of places—almost like a page made of lace!

Here are a few photos of the inside:

FRAMED-20210907_113314

FRAMED-20210907_113548

I used some green masking paper to line the inside of the cover, and added some subtle Distress Crayon + Lattice Stenciling as well, using the same process as I did on the outside. The pink papers are from the Cards, Tags, & More Kit, I used some Kraft-stock from my stash for the pages and to back the pieces of ephemera.

FRAMED-20210907_113452

FRAMED-20210907_113520

I created a few mini-envelopes to add to my pages, leaving one side unattached so create a little pocket for some notecards I made using the same Kraft-stock as the pages, topped with the swirls from the “Circle Swirl” chipboard.

Tres Jolie Kit Club-September Cards, Tags, & More Kit-ATCs

Hey all! Welcome back to my corner!

Whew! Already September?! Living in the South I am truly looking forward to cooler days getting here!

To get us going this month I have a set of ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) I put together using [almost 100% only] of the Cards, Tags, & More Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club!

FRAMED-20210819_113524

The only non-kit items (besides tools & adhesives) are the ink I stamped with and some basic white thread. These ATCs went together quick and easy! The lonest process I had was fussy cutting; something that can be done while watching T.V. or a movie. Which makes it easier for me, because otherwise I tend to get bored doing all that cutting! (I have a love/hate relationship with fussy cutting, I love the results, the process—not so much LOL!) Check out my video to see how these ATCs came together!

Video:

FRAMED-20210819_114139

FRAMED-20210819_114156

After I had my bases ready, assembly went quick and easy thanks to my hot glue gun! Hot glue can be so versatile and handy because you can use it to quickly build up and support your embellishments—and as soon as it’s cooled, you’re good to go! No dry time needed!

For some extra texture I added some “nests” of regular thread—the same one I used to stitch the edges—it was a little trick I picked up from Missy Whidden a few years ago (she does it to her layouts quiet often).

I used some Prima Fluid Chalk Ink from my stash to stamp the banners and words, then just fussy cut them out and used some hot glue to help hold the curve and attach them to the ATCs.

FRAMED-20210819_114208 FRAMED-20210819_114224

The only wet glue I used for these ATCs was some heavy gel medium that I randomly brushed on to hold my sequins and beads in place, and that didn’t take long to dry since it wasn’t thick. Plus, it dries clear, so now those sequins and beads look like they are just sitting there!

FRAMED-20210819_114041

Thank you for joining us here in my corner! I hope you enjoyed these ATCs and they gave you some ideas of what can be done with the items found in this month’s Cards, Tags, & More Kit!

September 2021 Cards, Tags, & More Kit:

Card kit sept 2021

In addition to this month’s Cards, Tags, & More Kit (*from previous Tres Jolie Kits), I used:

Tres Jolie Kit Club-Cards, Cards, Cards!-July 2021 Cards, Tags, & More Kit

Hey, all! I hope you had a craft-astic July and we were able to inspire you to go out and create!
For my third Cards, Tags, & More Kit project, I have a few cards, a few different ways!

FRAMED-20210619_095329

Check out my video to see my thoughts and process for all these cards!

Video:

Now for the close-ups and a few details for each card!

FRAMED-20210619_095551

FRAMED-20210619_095609

These two cards are some basic, “flat” cards. The “Happy Birthday” card is a 4-3/4”x4-3/4” square with just a piece of the striped cardstock, a doily die cut, and a piece of vellum with the greeting embossed. The “Let’s Celebrate!” is just stamped straight on the cardstock. I used a die from my stash with the Sizzix Emboss & Transfer set to add a little dimension to those birds being “pushed through” the gold cardstock.

FRAMED-20210619_095448

FRAMED-20210619_095730

The flowers from the kit get featured with these two cards! The “Hooray” cards is a little more fun with the flourish coming out from under the flower! The vertical card is more elegant, with some bits of lace dangling with the leaves.

FRAMED-20210619_095628

FRAMED-20210619_095650

Both of these cards of pieced together background, using strips of cardstock I had leftover from my previous projects! I cut some rosettes for the slimline card—giving it the “Party” feeling. The “imagine” card is another “flat” card, but those stars are just perfect to “make a wish” on.

FRAMED-20210619_095423

FRAMED-20210619_095528

These two cards sum up my feelings about cake! Lucky and Yay!! For the card on the left I used the negative cuts from the sheet of cardstock from my first project and added in some doliy cuts to create the background. I used my hexagon punches and any bit of “scrap” cardstock I could find to create the background for the card on the right. To cards with the same greetings, but totally different looks!

FRAMED-20210619_095817

I hope you enjoyed this project, and all of the projects this month, and they gave you some ideas of what you can do with the July Kits from Tres Jolie!

Tres Jolie Kit Club-July Cards, Tags, & More Kit-Folio

Hey, all! Welcome back to my corner!

Today I’m bringing you a folio as my second project this month using the Cards, Tags, & More Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club. In addition to the papers from the kit, I used some chipboard, linen blend cardstock, lace, and an old pillowcase from my stash. I also created an extra notebook using my Mini Cinch to stick in. Were I to do it again, I’d think through that extra notebook a bit, but I decided to add it as an after thought! But I explain all that in the video, so be sure to check it out!

FRAMED-20210619_094601

Video:

First, here are the measurements I used:

Chipboard Measurements:

3x 9”x6”

1x 1-1/4”x9”

1x 1”x9”

Cardstock Measurements:

Front, Back, Flap: 8-3/4”x5-3/4”

Spines: 8-3/4”x1” & 8-3/4”x3/4”

Waterfall Measurements:

5-1/2”x4-1/2” on the 4-1/2” edge score at

1/2” to create a 5-1/2”x4” surface.

Folder Measurements:

12×12 Cardstock—score at 8-3/4” for pocket

fold; score at 5-3/4” for center fold.

Now for some close-ups:

FRAMED-20210619_094432

FRAMED-20210619_095018

FRAMED-20210619_095042

Here are some shots of my cover. I love the fabric of this old pillowcase, and I’ve been waiting for the right project to come along to use it on; this folio was that project! I used two old buttons from my stash and some of the seam binding from the kit to create a simple closure.

FRAMED-20210619_094845

FRAMED-20210619_094823

On the center panel of the folio I added a waterfall for holding photos. I used the doily die from the kit to add a little extra to the top, and I have a couple of small magnets in place to hold the waterfall closed.

FRAMED-20210619_094638

FRAMED-20210619_094705

FRAMED-20210619_094724

In my folio I have two folders, one in each spine, with the second one having an extra fold-out envelope to go along with it. I also added some cardstock to the last panel to create a pocket.

FRAMED-20210619_094454

I used some wide lace and some E6000 to hold it tightly in place on the front panel. Originally I thought to put my (after-thought) notepad there, before I realized the folio wouldn’t close that way! So I decided to make the extra notepad a feature on the back panel, using a headband I got either at Dollar Tree or on clearance at Target to hold it in place.

FRAMED-20210619_094619

I hope you have time to check out the video to see how I put this folio together!

Thank you for joining us here at Tres Jolie! I hope you enjoyed this project and it gave you some ideas of what can be done using the items found in this months Cards, Tags, & More Kit.

Tres Jolie Kit Club-July Cards, Tags, & More Kit-A “Kit + Staple Products” Project

Hey, all! Welcome back to my little corner!

For my first project for Tres Jolie Kit Club this month using the Cards, Tags, & More Kit, I’ve put together a little flipbook that can have notes and small photos added for a little memory book.

FRAMED-20210619_094202

Total [kit] materials consumed for this project? About three sheets of the paper and half of the seam binding. That’s it! And although I use a couple of circle punches from my stash, you could easily omit the circles or use household objects to trace some circles on the backs of the cardstock and fussy cut them out! Check out my video to see how I put this together!

Video:

FRAMED-20210619_094255

I used the die from the kit to cut three doilies out from two different papers, stuck the doilies together, back-to-back, cut them in half, and placed them at the tops of the pages before folding the booklet together. I used the rest of the papers to make the tags and circles.

FRAMED-20210619_094305

I added stitching along the top and bottom of my booklet, but if you don’t want to, it isn’t necessary. Glue will hold the doily halves in place just fine.

FRAMED-20210619_094317

Some pages don’t have tags on them, instead I opted to create a label shape out of the patterned paper before layering with my circles.

FRAMED-20210619_094341

My measurements:

I cut the floral sheet into 3 4x12in strips, then scored at 3, 6, & 9 inches and trimmed at 9-1/2 inches. I used the 1/2 flap to connect the strips together. The scores are folded in alternating directions, to create an accordion effect, then the backs are glued together (after I had my doilies in place) to create the pages.

FRAMED-20210619_094236

I hope you enjoyed this project and it gave you an idea of what can be done with items from this month’s Cards, Tags, & More Kit! I’ll see you again soon.

Tres Jolie Kit Club-June 2021 Moodboard-Scrapbooking & Mixed Media Kits Combo

Hey, all! Welcome back to my little corner!

Today I’m bringing you my moodboard inspired project using both the June Mixed Media Kit and Scrapbooking Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club!

FRAMED-20210610_101240

I love steampunk! It is in my top three list of themes I could play with all day long! Check out my video to see how I put this together.

Now a few close-ups:

FRAMED-20210610_101311

On my metal pieces I used some clear gesso from my stash and added some color using the Starburst Squirts—Hockey Puck Black & Polite People Purple—from this month’s Mixed Media Kit. (Note: I forgot to mention the Polite People Purple in my video, Sorry!!)

On the wooden gear I adhered some of the metallic flakes and then aged them with more of the Starburst Squirts and clear gesso!

FRAMED-20210610_101330 FRAMED-20210610_101349

These black chipboard arrows are from this month’s Scrapbooking Kit, and I absolutely love them! I love them so much I ordered two more sets to keep on hand (Tres Jolie Chipboard).

FRAMED-20210610_101359

First I used some foam squares to raise the car up a bit, then to add more depth I used the Maple Syrup Bronze Starburst Squirt to create a shadow effect behind the car.

FRAMED-0210610_101251

I used a few of the transfers from the Mixed Media Kit, added some color with more of the Starburst Squirts, and layered them with the car. As a final touch, I grabbed up a few of the flowers and one of the butterflies from the Scrapbooking Kit and added them to my piece!

FRAMED-20210610_101322

I hope you enjoyed this project and it gave you some ideas of what you can do using this month’s kits and the moodboard!
