Tres Jolie Kit Club–Shaker “Envelope Gift Mini Album”-September Cards, Tags, & More Kit

Hey, all! Welcome back to my corner!

For my final Cards, Tags, & More Kit project for the Tres Jolie Kit Club this month, I’m bringing you an “Envelope Gift Mini Album” using a Paige Taylor Evans cut file. (Links to PTE’s tutorial & the Silhouette Store ID# in the product list.)

I used the cut file as my base, and decided it needed to become a *shaker* envelope mini album! In my video, you’ll get to see how I worked through that process (which means you’ll get to see how to do it the hard way, LOL!).

Check out my video! Hopefully it makes sense – I was working out the process as I went along!

For the album (and the inside envelope) I used some Paige Taylor Evans papers from my stash, but used papers from the kit as my ‘accent’ pieces and to make the bow. To make this into a shaker, I grabbed up a 12×12 page protector, inserted the album cut, and started stitching to make the pockets. After all the stitching was completed I trimmed off the excess page protector.

FRAMED-20210819_115422 FRAMED-20210819_115356

Here you can see the inside envelope, I added little magnets just to help keep the flap down. It wasn’t really necessary, I just found it helped keep the flap down for when I folded the album up. You can see I used the Altair Art papers from the kit to make my inside panels, with some doily’s added in that were made using the Dress My Craft Die from the kit.

FRAMED-20210819_115530

When I first decided to add in some stamping from the Bo Bunny stamp set I thought I would have a lot more, but as soon as I added these little edges I thought it was enough! Sometimes less is more!

FRAMED-20210819_115445 FRAMED-20210819_115343

I just had to add in these beautiful Tres Jolie Chipboard leaves from the kit! I found the angle of the leaves made a perfect match up for the flap of the envelope. The addition of the leaves, however, are also the reason I added a button a twine closure, like the one on the right flap, under the outside bow and band closure!

Tres Jolie Kit Club–Slimline Cards-September Cards, Tags, & More Kit

Hey, all! Welcome back to my corner!

This week I’m bring you some slimline cards I made using the September Cards, Tags, & More Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club, plus some items from my stash—most are from previous Tres Jolie Kits! (Tres Jolie Kits are a great way to add to your stash!) Check out my video to see how I did these slimlines!

Video:

Slimline’s are (were? LOL) originally intended to be created to fit in a standard (No. 10) letter envelope. All of my slimlines this week would easily fit into that size, although in the U.S. if the weight is over 1oz, or if the item is particularly rigid, postage beyond a single stamp may be necessary. If in doubt, go to your local post office and ask! Check out my photos below of each individual card:

FRAMED-20210819_114445

“Congratulations”: Layered doily die cuts over the negative cuts in the background paper, on top of my mixed media layer with clear beads circling the solid center of the doily from the Buttons Galore cube in the kit.

FRAMED-20210819_114527

“Hello!”: Since I had done my mixed media layers all at once, this card was really very quick to finish up. I added my papers, then realized it needed some of the stencil butter on it, spread that on and set if off to the side to dry. Once dry I added my doily with the “Hello!” stamped directly on it and finished it off with three clear sequins.

FRAMED-20210819_114459

“Thinking of You”: This one is super simple assembly! I just added some of the patterned paper on top of my mixed media background and some thin strips that I had left over from my ATC project (Sept. 2nd video); I tucked in a few of the fussy cut flowers under the sentiment and added some sequins!

FRAMED-20210819_114542

“With Love”: Once again I needed to add some of the stencil butter so I just randomly stenciled it on in three random area. I fussy cut the banner & sentiment out after they were embossed, stuck it down, and added some light pink sequins to the areas of stencil butter.

FRAMED-20210819_114512

“You’re Amazing”: Again I needed to add some of the stencil butter since I hadn’t added any to the mixed media background I used, so I tried very carefully to keep it at the center of the doilies. Unfortunately I only thought of the stencil butter after I had attached to doilies to the card, so it was a little difficult! I stamped and fussy cut the sentiment, tucked in some of the fussy cut flowers, and made three groups of the sequins.

Tres Jolie Kit Club–September 2021 Moodboard-Half Circle Journal

Hey, all! Welcome back to my corner!

This week I’m bringing you a half-circle journal I created using items from both the September Mixed Media Kit and Cards, Tags, & More Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club –plus items from my stash. Below you will find some photos, this month’s moodboard, and two videos for this project (Part 1 is preparing and the cover work; Part 2 is assembly and finalizing!)

FRAMED-20210907_112918

I hadn’t originally even thought of doing a journal when I pulled out my circle canvas, but as I sat there staring at the canvas and the new “Circle Swirl” chipboard from Tres Jolie an idea began to take shape! Check out my videos to see how everything came together.

Now for a few close-ups:

FRAMED-20210907_113151

FRAMED-20210907_113207

I used my Tim Holtz Distress Crayons with a Heidi Swapp stencil. Sometimes adding the Crayon first and lifting through the stencil with a baby wipe; sometimes adding the Crayon through the stencil. I was able to layer my Crayon using some Krylon Workable Fixatif in-between.

FRAMED-20210907_113119

FRAMED-20210907_113248

I used the “Burnished Bronze” Nuvo Embellishment Mousse from the September Mixed Media Kit to add some shine to my spine and the “Circle Swirl” Tres Jolie Chipboard.

FRAMED-20210907_113402

I’ve been hoarding this lace for about three years, and I was finally able to bring myself to using it! I grabbed up my Linen Hinging Tape and just added it in a couple of places—almost like a page made of lace!

Here are a few photos of the inside:

FRAMED-20210907_113314

FRAMED-20210907_113548

I used some green masking paper to line the inside of the cover, and added some subtle Distress Crayon + Lattice Stenciling as well, using the same process as I did on the outside. The pink papers are from the Cards, Tags, & More Kit, I used some Kraft-stock from my stash for the pages and to back the pieces of ephemera.

FRAMED-20210907_113452

FRAMED-20210907_113520

I created a few mini-envelopes to add to my pages, leaving one side unattached so create a little pocket for some notecards I made using the same Kraft-stock as the pages, topped with the swirls from the “Circle Swirl” chipboard.

Tres Jolie Kit Club-September Cards, Tags, & More Kit-ATCs

Hey all! Welcome back to my corner!

Whew! Already September?! Living in the South I am truly looking forward to cooler days getting here!

To get us going this month I have a set of ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) I put together using [almost 100% only] of the Cards, Tags, & More Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club!

FRAMED-20210819_113524

The only non-kit items (besides tools & adhesives) are the ink I stamped with and some basic white thread. These ATCs went together quick and easy! The lonest process I had was fussy cutting; something that can be done while watching T.V. or a movie. Which makes it easier for me, because otherwise I tend to get bored doing all that cutting! (I have a love/hate relationship with fussy cutting, I love the results, the process—not so much LOL!) Check out my video to see how these ATCs came together!

Video:

FRAMED-20210819_114139

FRAMED-20210819_114156

After I had my bases ready, assembly went quick and easy thanks to my hot glue gun! Hot glue can be so versatile and handy because you can use it to quickly build up and support your embellishments—and as soon as it’s cooled, you’re good to go! No dry time needed!

For some extra texture I added some “nests” of regular thread—the same one I used to stitch the edges—it was a little trick I picked up from Missy Whidden a few years ago (she does it to her layouts quiet often).

I used some Prima Fluid Chalk Ink from my stash to stamp the banners and words, then just fussy cut them out and used some hot glue to help hold the curve and attach them to the ATCs.

FRAMED-20210819_114208 FRAMED-20210819_114224

The only wet glue I used for these ATCs was some heavy gel medium that I randomly brushed on to hold my sequins and beads in place, and that didn’t take long to dry since it wasn’t thick. Plus, it dries clear, so now those sequins and beads look like they are just sitting there!
