Tres Jolie Kit Club– “Dear Diary…” –February 2023 Kits

Hey, y’all! This week, I decided to make a lapbook with a removable journal/diary. I have tons of pockets and flips in my 2-inch thick lapbook, so there will always be someplace to stick little notes or ephemera in!

Make sure you check out my video to get an overview of what I did. It isn’t a full tutorial – because otherwise, it would be hours and hours long Open-mouthed smile – but I tried to give an overview for you to pick some ideas from.

Tres Jolie Mood Board

Tres Jolie Insta Square Frame

I forgot to add this in the video – that’s a whole other issue! – but my lapbook idea did spring from this month’s mood board! I am not a particularly “frilly” type of person. I never have been – much to my mother’s dismay of not getting that delicate, sweet, “girly girl” who loves pink, ruffles, and such! (I tell her it was because of the trauma of the pink ruffle diaper pants she dressed me in! ROFL!!) (Disclaimer: I am also not delicate or sweet! Rolling on the floor laughing)

But I digress, well there is never likely to be an occasion where I will ever wear pink ruffles (again!), I don’t hate the entire concept and this month’s mood board – and Valentine’s Day – got me thinking about diaries, which led to journals, but I didn’t want to make a journal, so I made a lapbook!

feb23-lapbook-02 feb23-lapbook-04 feb23-lapbook-03

I will try to cover what is in the lapbook here on the blog, but I think the video will do a better job of showing a bit more of a “before and after” overview! A picture video is worth a thousand words!

I used some 3-inch bookbinding to put my cover together using two book covers from my stash that were the same height, and slightly different widths! This meant all I needed to do was cut some heavy chipboard down to the widths I wanted for my spines. My main spine is about 2-1/4 inches wide – because I found a cut of chipboard that width so all I had to do is cut it down to the correct height, plus, it went well with the two 1-inch chipboard strips I had laying around! Basically, I got rather lucky finding all of my main pieces ready – or almost ready – to go!

I just used the papers from the kit to cover all of my outside book surfaces and spines, as well as the inside spines. I stitched together some random fabrics I had in my stash and a bit of frilly pink ruffle “stuff” to create a tie closure, but I only attached it to the front cover so it could be moved out of the way when the book is laid down – and it is a handy “cushion” for the frame, flower, and butterfly cluster I added to the front of the lapbook!

feb23-lapbook-05 feb23-lapbook-06

I grabbed up some envelopes I’d been saving from junk mail, covered them with a wide variety of papers – some ledger paper, some rice paper – and if I needed to, I trimmed them down to fit within the covers. I personally love the look of things looking “pieced together” so I added stitching to the cut edges of the envelopes to seal them back up.

I used part of my old Kindle cover to create one of my flaps (the grey-bordered flap in the right photo above) which also led me to the belief that I needed to add windows everywhere! Well, everywhere on the inside! I used a variety of vellum and transparency pieces from my stash to cover my windows – some backed with patterned paper, some not – stitched them in place and started [trying] to work out how everything was going to fit together.

I also used the cover from a small book to create two inside flaps. I didn’t want to cover the original red cover on it, but I also needed to cover the raw edge where I had cut out the spine, so I used some homemade “vintage” tape!

feb23-lapbook-07 feb23-lapbook-22 feb23-lapbook-23

For the first [main] flap (if you think of the lapbook unfolded all the way, and going left to right), I have an envelope/triple pocket under a smaller decorative flap on the inside of the red book cover. Under the red book cover, I have three manila-type mini-folders stitched together, they flip out and reveal a large envelope with a gold foil acetate window, and finally, a large pocket with a tie closure.

feb23-lapbook-08 feb23-lapbook-09 feb23-lapbook-10

The next panel in the lapbook is where I added my old Kindle cover piece. I layered a piece of flower-shaped transparency, vellum, and a piece of patterned paper to the Kindle frame/window, then a second piece of patterned paper and an envelope/tuck spot combo on the back side. Under that Kindle cover, I have a small flap for decoration and a couple of my re-covered envelopes that fold up and flip out!

feb23-lapbook-11 feb23-lapbook-12

The two re-covered envelopes flip over and reveal a receipt folder that flips to the right, revealing a large pocket created from some homemade – very colorful – glassine and a piece of gold foil acetate.

feb23-lapbook-13 feb23-lapbook-17

I kept the third panel rather simple and “flat” so the journal would fit easily, and even have a little extra space for more pages to be added. I used an elastic headband to hold the journal in place, which also allows it to be removable. On the panel under the journal, I have a simple pocket covered by a large envelope that flips out.

feb23-lapbook-14 feb23-lapbook-15 feb23-lapbook-16

My journal is created from an old notebook folder that I altered a little, punched a couple of holes in for eyelets, and decorated with some rust-stained cheesecloth and sections from the 3Quarter papers. I didn’t stitch my pages to the cover, instead, I used a length of Prima Wire Thread to hold the pages in place and allow for them to be removed – and tucked away in one of the pockets!

feb23-lapbook-18

Finally, to the final panel! This panel is made up of three envelopes that fold over each other and a tri-fold element on the underside of the red book cover. I didn’t add anything to the back of this panel, because I really just like the image on this section of the patterned paper!

I hope you enjoyed this project and the video and/or this blog post gave you some ideas of how you can use the items found in this month’s Scrapbooking Kit, the cheesecloth from the Mixed Media Kit, and, I even have a strip of paper from the Cards, Tags, & More Kit in here!

Tres Jolie Kit Club–Cottage Life Cards–July 2022 Cards, Tags, & More Kit

Hey, y’all! We’ve made it to the end of July, and are that much closer to the end of this oppressive summer heat! (I hope!!)

For my last project using the July 2022 Cards, Tags, & More Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club, I used up the bits and pieces of the Graphic 45 “Cottage Life” papers I had, along with some cardstock, dies, and mediums from my stash, to create some cards & envelopes.

G45cards-jul22ctm-11

To get all the details of what I did for these cards, check out my video!

Video:

All of the cards are rather straightforward. I used my last two uncut sheets of the “Cottage Life” paper to make two envelopes for 3-1/2”x6” cards – the largest size envelope that can be made using an 8”x8” sheet on the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board – and used two pre-made envelopes and card blanks for the other two cards.

This first card is made with some metallic cardstock from DCWV and decorated using the TCW stencil from June’s Mixed Media Kit, texture paste from my stash, and embossing powder. I sprinkled the embossing powder on the texture paste while it was still wet, and waited until it dried before heating it up. Although you can heat dry texture paste on its own, because you can keep the heat farther away and in constant motion, it doesn’t work as well when the paste is topped with embossing powder! The heat needed for embossing powder – or rather the heating method – can, and generally will cause the wet texture paste to form bubbles.

G45cards-jul22ctm-05 G45cards-jul22ctm-06

After my embossing powder was heated and cooled, I sprinkled on some of Lindy’s “Bavarian Blue” Magical Powder that is in this month’s Mixed Media Kit, gave it a spray of water, and let it spread out between the stenciling! I had the framed phrase that I made when I was working on the “Cottage Life” décor piece (the project posted on the 21st), so I added it to my card front and stamped a simple sentiment on a strip of cardstock to finish out my card front.

For the envelope, I used a Vicki Boutin stamp and die set from my stash to create the little windows. Before I folded the envelope up, I used the rose die to make the windows in the envelope and glued in some faux glassine that I had stamped and embossed with the coordinating rose stamp.

G45cards-jul22ctm-01

I didn’t do anything to the envelope for this card except fold it! Honestly, I just couldn’t think of anything I wanted to have premade, and decided to wait until the time came to use it!

For the card, all I did was cut a couple of the wider strips of the patterned paper to the length I needed and a strip of cardstock to the length and width I needed for the top section with the sentiment. Before I added the cardstock with the sentiment, I added some “Mowed Lawn” Distress Oxide Spray to the patterned paper. I didn’t intend to add so much, sometimes my hands have a mind of their own! Anyhow, I just wet it and mopped it up a bit. It was already there, so I just worked with what I had!

After I stamped my sentiment, I decided I wanted to have it stand out more, so I traced it all with a metallic pen, then I added my mini pearls, and this card was done.

The next two cards were made using some card and envelope blanks by Recollections from my stash.

G45cards-jul22ctm-08 G45cards-jul22ctm-07

For this card, I grabbed my 1.5” hexagon punch, a set of hexagon dies, and my bird silhouette dies. I didn’t want to cover the whole front of the card with hexagons, so I just randomly placed them in a way that I thought looked good and added my birds. To make the birds stand out, I hand drew a line for them to stand one, outlined them in coordinating metallic pens, and then used a dark grey pen for their shadows – just smearing out it with my finger. I stamped the sentiment on a little piece of my homemade glassine and added it to the card front. Super quick and easy card!

For the envelope, I place my hexagon dies inside the envelope so I could cut out some windows, added my birds, and then backed them with some of my homemade glassine.

G45cards-jul22ctm-09 G45cards-jul22ctm-10

For the fourth and final card, I just filled up the card front with blocks of the patterned paper and added a few flowers tucked under the chipboard piece. Very quick and easy card front – especially with the use of a pre-made card base!

The envelope wasn’t as quick and easy! When I first started playing with the faux glassine technique I learned from Nik the Booksmith, I had used this cute little stamp from my stash to stamp on a piece of tracing paper, then used some colored pencils to fill it in before spraying it with the glossy spray and turning it into a [faux] glassine print! Since I had already cut it in half (I had been thinking of doing something else with it originally) I decided that I needed to create a window pane for my envelope.

For the cute little scene “outside” the window, I wrapped some blue-ish faux glassine (created previously using the wax method) around the white side of a piece of the cover from the Graphic 45 stack and placed it behind my showering squirrels! I also have some foliage bits along the bottom that I was able to cut from some of the green print. Not a lot, because my die was bigger than the piece of paper I had to work with, but there is some there!

After I cut out four rectangles from my envelope to create the window opening and gluing in my squirrels, I added in strips of the patterned paper to help bring it to life … and also possibly because my craft knife got away from me and I accidentally cut across one of the cross pieces so I had to find a way to put my window back together! Rolling on the floor laughing Well, that led me to then having to make sure my edges were all evenly sized so I added the blue strips of patterned paper and finally made four, 3/8” wide strips of the paper used around the outer edge.

Tres Jolie Kit Club–Father’s Day Coupons & Envelopes!-May 2022 Cards, Tags, & More Kit

Hey, y’all!

Since I did Mother’s Day Cards at the beginning of the month, I decided to do some Father’s Day Coupon’s and gift envelopes as my final May project using the May 2022 Cards, Tags, & More Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club. I created a few different designs to use as examples and have some example phrases to use with your coupon book. There are links to free PDFs for the different coupons throughout the blog, and over at CornerScrapsStudio you can get the PDFs, STUDIO3, and PNG files from my Etsy shop. I never “fully” completed a coupon book – the closest is my “Unlimited” tags – because I don’t have a personal use for Father’s Day coupons, and all our kids are old enough to worry about it themselves! (by old enough, I mean they no longer have any age restrictions on any purchases Rolling on the floor laughing)

dadDayCpns-May2022-07

Check out my video to check out all the different ideas I cover for envelopes and coupons!

Video:

dadDayCpns-May2022-09

First up are my “Vintage Gold” coupons. I designed these coupons to look as though they are on old paper with gold font and trim. These examples are printed on some HP Premium Choice LaserJet Paper; a type of high-resolution paper designed for business documents that need clear, crisp images. You can get the “Vintage Gold” PDF on DropBox (for personal use only, please!) if you would like to print them out. (**NOTE: All PDF files offered throughout this post are not offered, created, or owned by Tres Jolie Kit Club. I am the creator and owner of the files and offer the PDFs for your personal use.)

The envelope for these coupons is a hand-folded sheet of the 6×6 patterned paper. I just eyeballed the center and eyeballed where I wanted the folds. Then for a little decoration on the front, I added a couple of the leftover hearts from my Mother’s Day Cards and one of the Prima flowers.

dadDayCpns-May2022-04 dadDayCpns-May2022-03 dadDayCpns-May2022-02

This next coupon design I have dubbed “Modern,” not for any particular reason, it is just what came to me when I needed some names to distinguish between the different designs! I printed my “Modern” coupons on some blue cardstock using my regular color InkJet printer. I don’t know if it’s just my particular brand of printer or the ink, but I didn’t have a bleeding problem on my prints. However, a few years ago I had a different printer that did like to bleed. A lot. So I came up with something to help keep that from happening! I discovered that if I spray the side I will be printing on with some Krylon Workable Fixatif and let it dry before printing, my bleeding, for the most part, was gone! I was actually able to print on shipping label sticker paper using this method and all of my images and fonts stayed clear! (Just remember to spray in a well-ventilated area!). If you would like to see all the coupons, you can swing by and pick up the “Modern” PDF on DropBox (for personal use only).

I have a couple of different envelope examples for these coupons. One I made to have a tie closure, so I never sealed any of the flaps. I added an eyelet in the bottom flap and attached one of the flair from the kit to the top flap, then ran a piece of twine through the eyelet to tie the envelope closed. The second envelope I made I left open. I folded the top flap back and glued it in place so the coupons would be able to stick out the top.

dadDayCpns-May2022-10 dadDayCpns-May2022-11

I made a couple of mini envelopes to hold some Father’s Day Tokens. The tokens have all the same tasks but in an itty bitty size! I thought there were a couple of ways to use the tokens – you could print them out on sticker paper and make a full coordinating sheet to go with so the stickers could be placed as they get used, or you could print them out on regular paper, cut them into squares, staple the stack together if you want, and put them in the envelope (or staple them to the envelope). You can go grab the “Tokens” PDF on DropBox if you’re interested! (For personal use only)

dadDayCpns-May2022-06 dadDayCpns-May2022-12

Here is the final style of the full set of coupons I created. For this example, I printed them on some glossy photo paper and decided to make a little booklet. My photo paper doesn’t slide very well, so instead of trying to get them in and out of an envelope, I thought a booklet would work better. A couple ideas of for securing your booklet are to use brads if they are long enough, or some twine/ribbon ran through a couple of holes. Here is the link for the “Square ‘Stamp’ Edge” PDF on DropBox, if you are interested. (For personal use only)

dadDayCpns-May2022-05

In addition to the “single-use” coupons, I thought making “Unlimited” coupons would be a nice addition. I have some that are sized to fit the tags from this month’s kit – Unlimited Bear Hugs, Game of Catch, and Spending The Day Together – and I turned them into sketches in Silhouette Studio, but you can also print the “Unlimited Tags” PDF on DropBox if you would like (For Personal Use Only). I have a little envelope I made for them with the top flap folded back and glued open, and a hole with an eyelet so the tags can be tied to the envelope, to keep everything together.

dadDayCpns-May2022-01

My final example is another “Unlimited” coupon in the form of an ATC. Making an ATC allows some personalized artwork to also be part of the gift! For my ATC I cut a piece of the patterned paper to size, added some of the lattice-ish bits I had left from my Mother’s Day Cards, used some of the Finnabair micas from this month’s Mixed Media Kit, popped on some Say-It-In-Crystals and a flower, then printed out my phrase and glued it on.

For the envelope, I made an ATC-sized pocket. It is an expandable pocket I saw a lady make using the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board a few (5+) years ago on YouTube. I made myself a little note to tape to my punch board with the measurements, so now I don’t know who I originally saw!

Measurements & (Original) Instructions (6”x6” paper size):

  1. At the 2-1/4” mark, punch & score
  2. Move over to the 3-1/4”, punch & score
  3. Turn
  4. Line up with marker, punch & score
  5. Line up next line marker, punch – NO score (**In my video, I score here, then used my scoreboard to add another scoreline between the two made on the punch board so I had an accordion fold envelope.)
  6. Turn
  7. Repeat 1-5
  8. Using scissors, cut the little sections where your score lines … ummm … overhang … so you can fold your flaps (I hope this made sense!)

This will give you an envelope that is 2-3/4”x3-1/4”. If you’d like some examples for Father’s Day phrases you can get the Father’s Day Phrases PDF on DropBox or just check out this photo for ideas!

Tres Jolie Kit Club–Mother’s Day Cards–May 2022 Cards, Tags, & More Kit

Hey, y’all!

Wow! May already?!?! And in just a few days it will be Mother’s Day here in the States, so for my first Tres Jolie Kit Club project of May, I have some Mother’s Day Cards for you – just in case you just realized you need some by Sunday! The majority of these cards are kit + cardstock, but I added in a couple more for extra ideas using some mediums from my stash and this month’s Mixed Media Kit.

May2022-MothersDayCards-01

Most of the cards I made are quick and easy, and you don’t necessarily need digital cut files to create your cards. You can use punches or dies to create your shapes, stamps, or stickers for your sentiments, or just create your own, one-of-a-kind works of art for your cards and envelopes. Check out my video to see how I put my cards together!

Video:

May2022-MothersDayCards-21 May2022-MothersDayCards-22

These two cards are 6in x 6in squares with fold-up petals cut into the solid card stock and some flowers cut out of the patterned paper added as layers (as seen on the “Mum” card) with some of the Prima Say It In Crystals as the flower centers, or, as seen on the “Mom” card, some of the Prima flowers added for even more dimension.

May2022-MothersDayCards-07 May2022-MothersDayCards-25

These two cards are 5in x 8in gatefolds. Like the flower card front above, the hearts on here are cut so they can be folded up along the outer edges. I added some small magnets in my “latch” layers, but they are totally optional and not necessary for the card! I have some of the patterned papers behind my fold-up hearts, and I layered the gold glitter hearts with the cut file hearts for the closure. If you want to add a little something extra, you can grab a pen, pencil, paint, marker, etc., and add some outlines to your card front.

May2022-MothersDayCards-13 May2022-MothersDayCards-15

These two cards are made using some cardstock from my stash and some of the patterned paper found in this month’s kit. I added depth to my card front by layering my patterned papers with the hearts cut out – one solid sheet as the base, topped with three layers with cut-out hearts. I even have a card sample to remember there are dad’s out there also being mom. In addition to the Prima Crystal’s, I added some splatter to the “Dad” card using the blue mica found in this month’s Mixed Media Kit mixed with some of the Liquid Color Fluid Medium from March.

May2022-MothersDayCards-16 May2022-MothersDayCards-18

These are my last two “plain” cards. They are 4in x 10in and have a layered lattice-like design. However, on these cards, I layered my solid cardstock over squares of the patterned paper. After popping on my sentiment, I added a couple of flowers, and these cards were assembled in no time!

May2022-MothersDayCards-12 May2022-MothersDayCards-10 May2022-MothersDayCards-24

Since I was already in card-making mode, I decided to add a couple of cards that are a bit more involved. I used a mask/stencil from my stash with some black gesso over stripes of this month’s patterned paper, then added some mica from this month’s Mixed Media Kit to create the first card. My accompanying envelope has a window cut out of it using a traced edge of the stencil/mask for the design. After I had my window cut out, I adhered my mica with some clear embossing ink and semi-sealed them in with some Workable Fixitif. I embossed on some flower print vellum, glued it into the window, and colored in the roses with a gel pen.

For the last card, I used a stamp and embossed a fading dot pattern on the card front before laying the blue mica on. I stitched the “banner” along the top with some variegated blue thread and added my heart cluster.

Tres Jolie Kit Club–Mini Junk Journal–April Cards, Tags, & More Kit

Hey, y’all! Welcome back to the Corner Scraps Blog!

For my fourth and final April, Tres Jolie Kit Club project I made a Mini Junk Journal using the Cards and Mixed Media Kits. I love mixing vintage and bright; “old” and “new;” and the muted tones of the 49 & Market Cards, Envelopes, and Tags in this month’s Cards, Tags, & More Kit were the perfect complement to the bright tones of the Dina Wakley Glossy Sprays in the Mixed Media Kit. Check out the video to see how this all went together!

Apr22-MiniJJ-30

My closure is a few layers of fabric and tulle with four large buttons added on and a section of a headband (unused!) sewn onto one end. I also added some simple hand stitches for a little extra interest.

Apr22-MiniJJ-29

Video:

Apr22-MiniJJ-01

I used some lightweight chipboard I found in my stash, the floral print from the packaging of the 49 & Market Card Kit, and some teal burlap-ish trim from my stash to create the cover of the journal. I then decorated it with the Tres Jolie Chipboard from the kit and some of the Dina Wakely Glossy Sprays.

These aren’t all of the pages in the journal – only about half – as examples of techniques I used in creating this project!

I created a few clusters made from bits of fabric and tulle, a tag from the 49 & Market Tag Pack, and a couple of fabric flowers. I used black thread in my sewing machine to stitch the layers together, then added some hand-stitched X’s and hand-stitched the button on. I then glued the clusters along one edge to use as tuck spots. I added a blanket stitch (sewing machine) along the majority of the pages to reinforce the edges and make sure the gel print papers and cardstock backing stayed together! (Even if I did use a lot of glue – I don’t like things coming apart!)

Apr22-MiniJJ-21

I didn’t close up the three sides of the envelope to make it, well, an envelope; instead, I left it so it could be all the way unfolded. Throughout the journal, I added in some wax seals – some on pages, some on paperclips.

Apr22-MiniJJ-13

Not every surface has gel printing on it! I did leave a few sides bare, plus the back of all of the tags – but most of the surfaces have glossy sprays on them, so to write in this journal I think a fine tip marker would work best.

Apr22-MiniJJ-11

On the tags, I used white thread, and instead of punching holes and adding the tag pulls, I crossed two staples from my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

Apr22-MiniJJ-06

Lots of different patterns in this junk journal, but the bright Glossy Sprays work with their muted counterparts on the 49 & Market cards and envelopes – and to really tie it all together, I stuck to just using black and white thread.

Apr22-MiniJJ-04

Apr22-MiniJJ-02

From the front cover to the back cover there is a variety of patterns and colors. The fabric flowers worked fabulously during the gel plate printing process and made their way onto the finished product.

Apr22-MiniJJ-27

The spine of the journal has some scrap fabric, tulle, fabric flowers, and buttons from my stash on it. Like the other flowers throughout the journal, these flowers also have some Glossy Spray added to them.

Thank you for joining me here in my corner! I hope you enjoyed this project – and all of the projects this month – and they gave you some ideas of what you can do!

Tres Jolie Kit Club-Autumn Cards-November 2021 Cards, Tags, & More Kit

Hey, all! Welcome back to my corner!

Today I’m bringing you a couple of quick and simple autumn cards using the Cards, Tags, & More Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club. I used a couple of pre-made card bases and envelopes from Recollection’s (stash) and just added my own touch using the papers, ephemera, and chipboard from this month’s kit, as well as some other items from my stash.

FRAMED-20211024_121120

Need some quick cards? Check out my video to see how I put these together!

Video:

Simple, yes? Not all projects need hours of work to come out fabulous! And really, the Prima papers and Tres Jolie chipboard does most of the work here!

FRAMED-20211030_094414

My card bases are 6.5” x 5”, so I cut out 6.25” x 4.75” rectangles. Then I measured in 1/2” all the way around and, using my craft knife, I cut out my center rectangle! Two layers out of one rectangle!

I also just grabbed up a leaf stencil and some fluid chalk inks to add some decoration and color to the card bases and envelopes.

FRAMED-20211030_094049

I have had that flocking in my stash for – a very long time! I would have to say over 10 years! I just never knew what to do with it. I finally decided it was time to pull it out and see if I could make it work! I used some fluid chalk ink and sticky embossing powder to start, but the flocking didn’t really stick down heavily—it came out more like fuzz—so I added some collage medium and added more flocking. I do like the “unevenness” of the flocking though! Some places are have a thinner layer which makes it look lighter, and some areas are nice and thick, which makes a darker area!

FRAMED-20211030_094302

Here is a close-up to really show the flocking. I added some clear beads as raindrops to this umbrella and just a few clear sequins on the pear card.

Tres Jolie Kit Club–Shaker “Envelope Gift Mini Album”-September Cards, Tags, & More Kit

Hey, all! Welcome back to my corner!

For my final Cards, Tags, & More Kit project for the Tres Jolie Kit Club this month, I’m bringing you an “Envelope Gift Mini Album” using a Paige Taylor Evans cut file. (Links to PTE’s tutorial & the Silhouette Store ID# in the product list.)

I used the cut file as my base, and decided it needed to become a *shaker* envelope mini album! In my video, you’ll get to see how I worked through that process (which means you’ll get to see how to do it the hard way, LOL!).

FRAMED-20210819_113757

Check out my video! Hopefully it makes sense – I was working out the process as I went along!

Close-ups with some explanations:

FRAMED-20210819_115322

For the album (and the inside envelope) I used some Paige Taylor Evans papers from my stash, but used papers from the kit as my ‘accent’ pieces and to make the bow. To make this into a shaker, I grabbed up a 12×12 page protector, inserted the album cut, and started stitching to make the pockets. After all the stitching was completed I trimmed off the excess page protector.

FRAMED-20210819_115422 FRAMED-20210819_115356

Here you can see the inside envelope, I added little magnets just to help keep the flap down. It wasn’t really necessary, I just found it helped keep the flap down for when I folded the album up. You can see I used the Altair Art papers from the kit to make my inside panels, with some doily’s added in that were made using the Dress My Craft Die from the kit.

FRAMED-20210819_115530

When I first decided to add in some stamping from the Bo Bunny stamp set I thought I would have a lot more, but as soon as I added these little edges I thought it was enough! Sometimes less is more!

FRAMED-20210819_115445 FRAMED-20210819_115343

I just had to add in these beautiful Tres Jolie Chipboard leaves from the kit! I found the angle of the leaves made a perfect match up for the flap of the envelope. The addition of the leaves, however, are also the reason I added a button a twine closure, like the one on the right flap, under the outside bow and band closure!

Tres Jolie Kit Club-June 2021 Cards, Tags, & More Kit-Samples!-ATCs, Memorydex, and a Card & Envelope

Hey, all! Welcome back to my little corner!

Today I’m bringing you my third (and final) project this month using the June Cards, Tags, & More Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club; a sampler of smaller projects—ATCs, Memorydex®, and a notecard & envelope.

20210507_190148-FRAMED

With my three projects this month, I used up every little bit of the June Cards, Tags, & More Kit, and had a fabulously fun time doing it! Check out my video below to see how my samples came together!

Video:

First up, my ATCs:

20210507_185257-FRAMED

I used Tim Holtz’s “Crackling Campfire” and “Salvaged Patina” for the color scheme of my ATCs. The bases are Prima ATCs, dyed some white tulle with Distress Oxide Stain, and I used the clockfaces, butterflies, phrases, and flowers (my flowers were different!) from the kit to top them.

Here are some close-ups of each ATC:

Next, my Memorydex cards:

20210507_185542-FRAMED

Since these cards are meant to go onto a Memorydex®, I kept them a bit flatter than the ATCs. Three of the card’s color scheme are Tim Holtz’s “Blueprint Sketch” & “Mustard Seed” and three are the same as the ATCs, “Salvaged Patina” & “Crackling Campfire.” I grabbed up some sisal for four of the cards and actually just used my wax seals to hold it in place! I used my last butterfly and gears from the kit and added some cut out pieces from the Stamperia paper pack. (Note: At the time I didn’t have the June Mixed Media Kit yet, so I used some Nuvo Gilding Flakes from my stash. As a reminder, the June Mixed Media Kit comes with a jar of Finnabair’s “Steampunk” Metallic Flakes!)

And finally, my notecard and envelope:

20210507_185849-FRAMED

For my envelope I was 100% inspired by Nathifa (Pronounced: na-tee-fa) from Juicy Christians Studios (in my video I only refer to her Instagram handle because I hadn’t heard her say her name or read the pronunciation yet, and I didn’t want to pronounce it wrong!). I am completely obsessed with watching her make envelopes! When I got down to having only pieces from the cut apart sheet left, I figured I’d try my hand at making an envelope.

I used some Kraft paper from my stash, turned a stencil into a stamp, cut out Every. Last. Piece. of the cut apart sheet, and layered things up—using my black Stabilo to create my shadows! I wrote my name on the back flap, to show where a return address would go, and used a silver marker to create the recipient’s address box. Now I may have finally found a use for all the cut apart sheets I’ve collected over the years! (Fussy cutting isn’t my most favorite activity!)

Here are close-up of the front and back of the envelope:
